Twin Arms Fencing specializes in made-to-order foils with Italian grips and false ricassi that use accommodate French blades. Italian blades are more difficult to obtain than their French counterparts. The selection of Italian blades is very limited because few companies manufacture them and fewer equipment suppliers carry them. French style blades, by contrast, have numerous manufactures and a greater range of choice. All major equipment suppliers carry French blades and they are very economically priced. This situation has forced fencers to go to great length to find Italian style blades or pay the higher prices charged by the few equipment suppliers who sell them.

Twin Arms manufactures a weapon designed to accommodate the needs of the fencer who prefers an Italian style weapon and uses the more readily available French blades. The result is a solid one piece unit that firmly holds the blade in place. The false ricasso is milled to a thickness of 8 to 9 mm to mimic closely the ricasso of a real Italian blade. An attractive black walnut grip firmly seats into the pommel and gavigliano. The foil is well balanced and represents a superb value for the price. The up-front cost is more than that for an authentic Italian foil, but the price of a replacement blade is far less than that of an Italian blade – if one can be found.

Remember that it’s not a matter of “if” a foil blade will break but “when”. Using our product, a broken blade will not break your budget.
